EndNote Web Handout

The EndNote Web handout (used in class on 9/7) will help you study for the EndNote Web quiz.

Downloading EndNote Web Plug-ins

You may need to download one or more plug-ins for the Cite While You Write (CWYW) and Direct Export features of EndNote Web. CWYW allows you to insert citations from EndNote Web into Word. The Direct Export feature allows you to pull citations directly from (some) databases into EndNote Web. Directions on how to download these plug-ins can be found below.

1. Go to EndNote Web and sign-in.

2. At the very bottom of the EndNote Web interface, you should see a Download Installers link.

  • If you have a PC and use Internet Explorer, select the Download Windows option under the CWYW column. This installs both the CWYW plug-in for Word AND the Direct Export extension for Internet Explorer.

  • If you have a PC and use Firefox, select the Download Windows option under the CWYW column. You'll also need to download the Firefox Extension on the right hand-side of the Download Installers page.

  • If you have a Mac, choose the Download Macintosh option under the CWYW column. In order to use the Direct Export feature on a Mac, you must use Firefox (and also download the Firefox Extension on the right-hand side of the Download Installers page in EndNote Web).

There are additional instructions and lists of system requirements on the Download Installers page of EndNote Web.
