Creating Stable Links to Medical Ebooks: ClinicalKey

How to create a stable or durable link to medical ebooks available from the MSU Libraries

Always use the IP authenticated link above to access this resource. This will ensure you can create stable links.

ClinicalKey has over 1100 medical and clinical textbooks on its platform. All of these can be linked at a book and chapter level.

The Whole Ebook

You can get the stable link to the ebook from the Electronic Medical Books guide or you can:

1. Navigate to the ebook you want to link to in ClinicalKey

2. copy the numeric portion at the end of the URL after book/

3. copy and paste the numeric portion of the URL to end of this string: https://ezproxy.msu.edu/login?url=https://www.clinicalkey.com/dura/browse/bookChapter/

For ClinicalKey Nursing use this URL: https://ezproxy.msu.edu/login?url=https://www.clinicalkey.com/nursing/dura/browse/bookChapter/

4. the link to the book should look like this:

Book Chapters and Sections

1. Navigate to the ebook chapter you want to link to

2. copy the numeric portion at the end of the URL after book/

3. copy and paste the numeric portion of the URL to end of this string: https://ezproxy.msu.edu/login?url=https://www.clinicalkey.com/playContent/

4. the link to the chapter should look like this:

https://ezproxy.msu.edu/login?url=https://www.clinicalkey.com/playContent/3-s2.0-B9780323531139000182

Sections of chapters can be linked to using the same process and format, but may not work 100% of the time due to the # in the URL.
