Finding Planning Reports in the MSU Libraries: About the Collection

MSU Libraries has an extensive collection of local and regional government planning reports.

About the Collection

The Planning Reports collection has been built over many decades, and primarily consists of publications by or about local communities planning their use of space and infrastructure.  Common focuses are land use, zoning, transportation, recreation, urban renewal, and regional planning.  The largest collection is of Michigan communities, but we also have reports for communities outside of Michigan, usually major cities.

For many years the collection was housed in the Charles W. Barr Planning & Design Library in the Urban Planning Building.  The collection is now located in the MSU Main Library on 2 East.

Planning reports circulate like other library materials.  Click here to see loan periods.
