Collection Management Issues 

Items that have been lost or stolen will be replaced if still available provided the item has current relevance and is not superseded by new editions or information, the is especially true if the item is necessary for one of the fields of study offered by the department. 

Physical duplicates should not be retained. If there is high usage or the item is of great importance, then if available an e-book may be purchased to supplement the physical copy. 

History of the Policy 

Mary Ann Tyrrell originally wrote the collection development policy statement for Classics. Last updated : January 2000; March 2009; March 2011; March 2013; May 2018.  

The Anthropology collection development policy was originally drafted by Denise A. Forro. Date Drafted: November 20, 1998 Last Reviewed Date: October 20, 2006 Date Revised: November 3, 2009 

In 2023 Amanda Tickner re-wrote the Anthropology collection policy. She updated the policy and included Classics.
