TYPES OF SEARCHES

Keyword: Matches words in elements of the citation or in entire text of article. Uses boolean operators for combinations. Limit by date, category of article or words in title. Results displayed oldest to newest

Relevance: Matches words in elements of the citation or in entire text of article. Use proximity operators with or near (w# or n#) for combinations. Limit by date, category of article, or words in title. Results displayed “best matches” first.

Date: Browse through the paper of a particular date

Advanced: Search by keyword, title word, author, illustration, category or date alone or in combination. Limit by date, category, w/wo illustrations. Results displayed oldest to newest.

Default search screen is advanced. Other search types are found in the blue area near upper left of screen and are less daunting for beginners.
