  • Play Index

    Play Index on WilsonWeb is the electronic version of Play Index. Search over 30,000 plays written from Antiquity to the present and published from 1949 to the present in the convenient electronic form that patrons prefer. An invaluable aid to finding the perfect plays to match your production resources, Play Index covers a wide range of plays written in or translated into English, including mysteries, pageants, plays in verse, puppet performances, radio and television plays, and classic drama.

  • Inter-Play

    An older web resource that finds plays within anthologies.

  • Ottemiller's index to plays in collections : an author and title index to plays appearing in collections published between 1900 and 1985

    Plays are often published in collections, such as BEST PLAYS. Use this index to find full text.

  • Index to plays in periodicals

    This purely for 20th Century. Also see companions: INDEX TO PLAYS IN PERIODICALS 1977-1987, and SUPPLEMENT editions (shelved together in Reference).
  • To find monologues search the Library Catalog for keyword: monologues (with that particular spelling). A subject search for monologues will produce more pointed results. Monologues and scenes for acting auditions and the like can be browsed by going to call number range PN 2080 on 4E of the Main Library.
