Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender Resources: Online Catalogs

Online Catalogs

  • MSU Library Catalog

The MSU Libraries' Online Catalog is a searchable listing of items owned by the MSU Libraries (as well as the Library of Michigan). These items include: books, periodicals (journals, magazines, newspapers)*, government documents, maps, movies, and sound recordings.

It is not possible to find articles in the catalog. Use a periodical index to search for articles.

  • MeLCat

Can't find what you need in the online catalog? Try searching MeLCat, a catalog of numerous Michigan libraries. Materials requested directly through MelCat often arrive at the MSU Main Library Circulation Desk within approximately 7 days.

  • MSU LBGT Resource Center Library

This site lists over 300 resources available in Michigan State University’s LBGT Resource Center. The collection includes a variety of fiction and non-fiction titles, and covers areas such as (among others) lesbian and gay parenting, LBGTQ history, LBGTQ biography, and award-winning titles specific to LBGTQ identity and experiences.

  • WorldCat (OCLC)

WorldCat is the OCLC Online Union Catalog, containing more than 35 million records describing items owned by MSU Libraries and libraries around the world; each record indicates library holdings. It is produced by the OCLC Online Computer Library Center and describes books, manuscripts, computer data files, maps, computer programs, musical scores, films and slides, newspapers, journals, sound recordings magazines, and videotapes.
