Collection Development Policy Statement: International Combined

Future trends:

Collection development must follow and, whenever possible, anticipate major trends in international interest. It must also monitor curricular developments in the various colleges across campus.

International information has had an interest and been collected at the library for many years and will only continue. International Business interest has increased in recent years as the College of Business has a strong renewed interested in it.

Relationship to other resources:

Because it is so interdisciplinary, international cuts across most subject areas. Some of special interest are:

1. Government Documents

This collection holds much information that is useful to international interest. There is an international documents collection and Canadian documents collection in Government Documents.

2. Economics

While it deals with money and economics in general, it is does not cover the policy and theory of international development and the actual business usage. There is some overlap.

3. History

History is split up based on geographic area, but they are more general in focus and also concentrate on historical items.

4. Map Library

Holds some map material collected from the other areas.
