USDA's NASS Michigan Field Office is operated in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).
Midwest Cover Crops Council (MCCC)
Cover crops are plants seeded into agricultural fields, either within or outside of the regular growing season, with the primary purpose of improving or maintaining ecosystem quality. The goal of the Midwest Cover Crops Council (MCCC) is to facilitate widespread adoption of cover crops throughout the Midwest, to improve ecological, economic, and social sustainability.

Census of Agriculture - Historical Reports, USDA Ag Census website
The 1840 Census was the first to include statistics on agriculture. Since then, each subsequent census has continued to gauge the overall picture of U.S. agriculture. Many of these are available on-line through the U.S. Census Bureau website or here as PDFs. [Site covers 1840-1950, with links to the 1992, 1997, 2002 and 2007 reports.]

Agricultural Final Estimates Statistical Bulletins
These bulletins contain final estimates, including revisions made by the Agricultural Statistics Board (ASB), for five-year periods preceding the Census of Agriculture. Data included in these publications provide an historic record and a benchmark for current estimates.
