A guide to creating your own rig for aerial photography with kites and balloons.

A site to view the land cover of the United States.
LandSat Explorer
A web app that lets you view, manipulate, and export satellite photography
TerraPattern
A visual search tool for satellite imagery that matches places you select with similar areas in a city.
Data Collection
iNaturalist
An app for your phone that shares your observations of the natural world with other naturalists to help identify and discuss them.
Web Mapping
Arcgis.com
A web mapping platform from ESRI that lets your upload data and make maps for free. Advanced analysis features require a software license.
Carto
Another web mapping platform that allows you to upload your own data and produce easy maps to share online.
Humanitarian Mapping Project
Hotosm.org
A free web mapping service that lets you help with a humanitarian project (e.g. Hurricane relief, Malaria) by improving the maps for roads, towns, and other features.
