Business Case Studies

Use this guide to find, analyze and write case studies as well as prepare for case competitions. Adapted with permission from the UBC, David Lam Library's Business Cases Guide.

What is a Business Case Study?

Case studies summarize fictitious or real life events faced by management, companies, and industries, and provide a framework for problem solving. They enable students to explore, understand and analyze situations with which they may not have had first-hand experience, and to apply the concepts and theory that they have been learning. Case studies also enable students to practice the critical thinking and problem solving skills that are in such high demand from employers today.

This guide helps you find case studies as well as resources that can help you analyze and write cases. It can also help you prepare for case competitions.
