Final Project (Book Review):

This assignment is the equivalent of the final projects. Read and review any recent books (published 2020-2023) related to

environment,
systems thinking,
sustainability,
sustainable development,
urbanization,
environmental crimes,
environmental justice,
gender and environment,
capitalism,
consumerism,
population and environment,
native lands or policies.

This book review should be publishable in a peer-review journal.

Finding books to review

There are multiple methods to find books and ebooks to review.

One method is by searching the Library Catalog to find print books and ebooks. You can also search for specific books by title, author or ISBN.

Search Catalog by keywords
1. Conduct a search, i.e., "environmental justice" "migrant workers"
2. Run search. You may get a large number of results. To narrow it down, use these limiters
3. Limit To: "Available in Library Collection
4. Limit To: Enter time limiters, 2020 and 2023
5. Limit by Source Type: Books and Ebooks
Note: This search retrieve results from all our ebook providers as well as the print books in the library catalog.

Search Catalog by title, author or ISBN
1. Type title, author [lastname, Firstname] or ISBN into the top search box.
2. In adjacent drop-down list, select the appropriate field.
3. Add more information in lower search boxes if necessary.
4. Run search. You may get a large number of results. To narrow it down, use these limiters.
5.Limit to: "Available in Library Collection"
6. Limit to: "Catalog Only"
7. Limit To: Enter time limiters, 2020 and 2023
8. Limit by Source Type: Books and Ebooks
Note: Click a book's record for the full information. If in print, the call number will be close to the bottom of the record. Make sure Status is 'Available'. If an ebook, click 'Access Content Online' to be taken to the ebook.

To search only for ebooks, you can search just the vendors from whom we purchase ebooks. (This is not a complete list of vendors.)

APS (American Phytopathology Society) ebooks
In upper right, click the 'SORT: ALPHABETICALLY' and select 'Date'. The items will be in chronological order, newest first.
Note: There are relatively few ebooks on this platform, so sorting by date is the easy way to find date-constrained titles. All are full text.

2. Left column, Years, select desired years.
3. Article type: Select Book Chapters
4. Look at results - notice they are chapters, not book titles. To look at the full book, click on the book title below the chapter title.
