- The Harley Dorman scrapbook contains photographs and postcards depicting campus life at Michigan Agricultural College with a few scenes of Lansing and Grand Ledge. Note: Harley O. Dorman, an engineering student from Vermontville, attended Michigan Agricultural College from 1906 to 1908. He apparently did not complete requirements for graduation.

Fay L. Hendry Outdoor Sculpture Project records (UA 10.3.420), 1976-1981

- Research data and administrative records of the project that studied outdoor sculpture in three Michigan cities: Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Lansing. Included are geographically arranged research files on sculpture in Michigan cities and Brazil; general files on more than one sculpture, organized by author, title or location, depending on available information. Files include inventory forms with photographs, correspondence, interview notes, and newspaper clippings on each piece of sculpture. Administrative records include correspondence proposals, fiscal records, reports,
copies of the original guidebook manuscripts, and publicity materials.

- The collection consists of two papers written by Jacqueline Holecek as class assignments. "The Union Building at Michigan State University" (1994) traces the history of the Union and provides information on the contributing architects and the artists. "Archival Research in the R.E. Olds Mansion in Lansing, Michigan" (1995) traces the history of the Olds family and their mansion.

Jenison Family papers (UA 10.3.446), 1877-1939

- The bulk of the collection consists of Frederick C. Jenison's papers, for the period 1907-1939. Primarily personal and business records, the majority are expenditure reports, IE Check stubs for personal and business expenses. A detailed reconstruction of family and business finances is possible with these records. Also included is his correspondence with the insurance companies he represented and a small amount of material from other members of the family. Note: Prominent Lansing, Michigan business family, Nelson and Alice Jenison operated the Lansing Dry Goods Store in the late 19th Century. Their son, Frederick C. Jenison, owned and operated the Frederick C. Jenison Insurance Agency. The family-owned prime business property and buildings and was active (and successful) investors. At his death, F. C. Jenison's entire estate was bequeathed to M.S.U.

Lenore Nixon Johnson collection (UA 10.3.212), 1909-1910, 1913

- The collection consists of photographs and postcards. The photographs are of the 1913 winter term Union Literary Society party and an image of three women holding decorations for a party possibly in association with the Sororian Literary Society. The postcards consist of MSU buildings including the Poultry Plant; Armory; Wells Hall #2 decorated with banners and an unlit bonfire in the front; Women's Building; an aerial view of campus; and a drawing of the Willows in winter. In addition, there is a postcard with a drawing of East Side Park in Lansing. Some of the postcards have letters on the back that give a bit of information about her college life.

- This collection is primarily related to the Joseph T. McKibbin family (1900-1950) but includes correspondence dating back to the 1840's which was written by the Rolfe and North families, early settlers in Lansing and Ingham County. Family correspondence, household and business records, college memorabilia, pamphlets and scrapbooks represent the bulk of the collection. Joseph’s daughter, May McKibbin, was at one time principal of Logan School in Lansing.

- This collection contains 13 scrapbooks which span from 1924 to 1991. The scrapbooks are mostly general in content; however, several of them contain newspaper clippings, correspondence and memorabilia highlighting the Neller's social life in Lansing and East Lansing. There is also information on the R.E. Olds Museum and the real estate business in Lansing, and East Lansing. Note: Walter H. Neller founded the Walter Neller Company, a real estate company in the Lansing, Michigan area. Additional Scrapbooks specifically about the Walter Neller Company are also available.

- Alvin Crossman Pratt papers consist of memorabilia and a scrapbook, primarily from Michigan Agricultural College, but including some items from Pratt's years as a student at Lansing High School. The scrapbook contains invitations, letters, postcards, photographs, posters, and programs from dances and parties, as well as from the Semi-Centennial Celebration in 1907. Memorabilia also include M.A.C. registration receipts (1904-1907).

- The papers of Philena Smith consist of personal artwork and a scrapbook containing programs, invitations, tickets, greeting cards, letters, report cards, menus, postcards, and news clippings related to student life at Michigan Agricultural College. Photographs are of friends and campus events. Some items pertain to her student athletic participation in Lansing High School. Philena Esther Smith, of Lansing, Michigan, earned her B.S. degree in Home Economics from Michigan Agricultural College in 1912.

- The Lewis P. Watson collection consists of a photograph album and collection of 43 loose photographs. The album consists of images of buildings and scenes at Michigan State University, athletic events, and people working in the fields. There are also images of Lansing, and other unidentified scenes of water beaches and a ship. There are also images of Watson, people at their desks- many of which are identified, and other friends. The loose photographs contain images of campus buildings, trains, trestles and tracks, the House of David Home Team baseball team from Benton Harbor Michigan, the We-go-ta Hotel in Central Lake, Michigan, and a Sunny South Lines bus in Cincinnati, Ohio. There are also photographs of houses at Graham Station in Grand Rapids.

Lewis A. Wileden papers (UA 10.3.415), 1908-1968

- Lewis A. Wileden, Michigan State University's first veterinary graduate, also served in the Army Veterinary Corps in World War I. Most of his papers deal with his military experiences, including personal notebooks, military vouchers and orders, and personal reports. Also a 1919 copy of the Second Division newspaper, THE INDIAN, a small publication about the accomplishments of the division during the war, a scrapbook of postcards and photographs of Europe, postwar correspondence with the Second Regiment Engineers, wartime newspaper clippings, and military identification papers, one of which holds a photograph of Wileden. Includes a personal synopsis of his war experiences and copies of speeches he made concerning the war in later years. Michigan State University materials include a personal expense notebook, a couple of social programs, a scrapbook including photographs of family and friends from the Ortonville and Lansing (Michigan) areas, programs, invitations, and ribbons, and articles and programs of alumni events. Postwar materials include veterinary accounts, records, and daybooks; articles; a Federal income tax return (1942 - restricted); records of his service with the Ingham County (Michigan) Health Department, the Mason (Michigan) City Council, and his jury-duty tenures; speeches; personal correspondence; and numerous materials relating to his accident on the Grand Trunk Railway system, his claim against the railroad company, his medical expenses, and a hospital diary.
- Note: Lewis A. Wileden (1888-1969) of Oxford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, was the first student at Michigan Agricultural College (Michigan State University) to earn a degree in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1913, he accepted the position of Sanitary Inspector for Lansing, Michigan. In 1914, he married Carolyn D. Gornitz. In 1917, he enlisted in the Second Engineers, American Expeditionary Forces, and he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Veterinary Corps in France. Upon his return, in 1919, he set up a veterinary practice in Cassopolis, Cass County, Michigan, which he relocated to Mason, Michigan, in 1922. He was elected president of the Michigan Veterinarians' Association in 1927, and he served on the Mason Board of Education from 1927 to 1935. In 1941, he was injured in a train accident in Lansing. In 1946, he sold his veterinary practice to become the meat inspector for the Ingham County (Michigan) Health Department, from which he retired in 1957. He also served on the Mason City Council 1954-1956.

- The Beryl Williamson papers consist of albums, programs, clippings about Williamson and her ice skaters, Lansing Skating Club directories, photographs, scrapbooks, audio, films, and videos with segments about Williamson. The scrapbooks contain family and vacation photographs, skating photographs, and newspaper clippings about Williamson and her students. The audio materials contain reel-to-reel tape and audio cassettes of music from skaters' routines. The 16mm and 8mm film consists of skaters as well as home movies. The videotapes contain "Perspectives on Ice" an MSU talk show that Williamson was interviewed on, and an "Unsung Hero" segment that featured Williamson.

Jon L. Young reminiscences (UA 10.3.116), 1986

- This collection consists of Jon L. Young's reminiscences, based on diaries he kept as a student at Michigan State College from 1931-1935. Young describes his classes, social activities, and work as a teaching assistant in the History Department. He also talks about his family, who lived in Lansing, and the impact of the Depression, especially on his father, an employee of the REO Motor Car Company. Young also analyzes the unsettled international events of the 1930s.
