Michigan State University occupies the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary Lands of the Anishinaabeg – Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe, Odawa, and Bodéwadmi peoples. The University resides on Land ceded in the 1819 Treaty of Saginaw.
