PhD Resources: Getting Help

This guide contains resources and information for Nursing PhD students.

If you need help....

There are several ways to get help with database searching/finding articles.

1. Contact Jessica: Remember to plan in advance if you want to set up a virtual or in-person appointment to get extra help from Jessica. Jessica's contact information can be found on the right-hand side of all of the pages of this guide.

2. Ask A Librarian: If Jessica is away, or you need help immediately - you can use the MSU Libraries' Ask A Librarian Service. You can chat with a librarian 24/7, call our helpline, send an email, or visit the Reference Desk in the Main Library.

3. Find Help Online: Most databases have robust "Help" sections - look around the database interface for a link that says "Help" or "Support". Often, there are great tutorials, FAQs, screenshots, etc. You can also try searching YouTube or Google for database searching help. Searching for things like"CINAHL tutorials" OR "CINAHL Searching" will most likely retrive some pretty decent results.
