Finding books and videos

In the library catalog, the official subject heading uses the word Indians.
 

The main subject heading is then narrowed by subtopic, geography or type of source. 

Ojibwa Indians -- Religion

Ojibwa Indians -- Michigan 

Ojibwa Indians -- Newspapers

Ojibwa Indians -- Social Life and Customs

Ojibwa Indians -- Art

Ojibwa Women -- Biography


You can also try a Keyword search

ojibw* finds ojibwa ,  ojibwe (Asterisk finds different word endings)

ojibw* OR anishinabe* OR anishinaabe OR chippewa (OR will find items that have either of the terms)

here is a search which combines the names with a search for primary sources:

(ojibw* OR anishinabe* OR anishinaabe ) and (sources OR biography OR "personal narrative" OR "oral history")

 

If you have already identified an item and need to find it in the library

To see if we own a particular book, on the library home page select Books & Media under the general search box, then click the Title tab.

To see if library has a particular journal select Journals under the general search box on the library home page and search for the title of the journal.

If you cannot find the book or article in our collection, you can use Interlibrary Loan to access the item. See the interlibrary loan tab.
