Collection Management Issues
- Donations
- Donated materials are considered when they would not duplicate existing materials, and tend to be accepted when they are particularly relevant or rare. However, materials’ availability for public use may be significantly delayed by the long, existing backlog of materials to catalog.
- Preservation and replacements
- Current major games, heavily circulated, high-interest or one-of-a-kind items should be replaced when appropriate. Decisions to replace materials missing or damaged beyond repair are made on a case-by-case basis.
