Interlibrary loan (ILL) Options

Interlibrary loan (ILL) allows MSU students and faculty to acquire or borrow materials (articles, books, etc.) not owned my MSU Libraries. ILLiad is the electronic system you use to request an item through Interlibrary Loan. The name ILLiad can be thought of as an acronym for InterLibrary Loan internet accessible database.

ILLiad - First-time Users
To request an item through Interlibrary Loan, you must first identify yourself to the library's ILLiad system. To do this you fill out a registration form using your Web browser.
MARS: MSU Article Retrieval Service
Get electronic copies of print journal articles and individual book chapters located in the MSU Libraries. Open to graduate students, staff and faculty. Documents are requested and made available through your Illiad account.

This service provides copies of non-electronic journal articles and individual book chapters that the MSU Libraries own to MSU faculty, staff, and graduate students for personal research.

Basic Catalog Search
The Library Catalog is the primary way to find materials within the library. The online catalog lists all of the materials owned and cataloged by the MSU Libraries, both print and electronic journal titles, books, ebooks, music CDs, government documents, videos & DVDs, and MSU theses & dissertations.
