Sports Research Guide: How to Locate Journal Articles, once you have the Citation

Finding Journal Articles

The easiest way to locate a journal is to search the MSU libraries' online catalog.

Conduct a title search for the journal that contains the article you want. For example, you've found the article "Athletic trainers' and physical therapists' perceptions of the effectiveness of psychological skills within sport injury rehabilitation programs" in the journal Journal of Athletic Training, May-June 2008: 43(3): 258.

From the Main Library's homepage, click on Catalog, click on Title, type in (the title of the journal) in this case Journal of Athletic Training.

If MSU has access to this title, there should be links to the paper and/or online version of the journal.

MSU has this title in both Online and Print formats.

If MSU doesn't have access to a journal you will have to Interlibrary Loan the article from another institution.
