Provides descriptive and statistical data on over 250 countries. Each country profile includes demographic data as well as labor force statistics, if available.

Extensive list of links to online maps of continents, countries, territories, regions, oceans and seas prepared by the Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection Library at the University of Texas at Austin.

Each guide contains a short list of websites with information on a particular country. Links to major newspapers, statistical agencies and stock exchanges are often included. Good place to start when beginning one's research. Note: access to some of the sources is restricted to Harvard Business School students.

These publications include facts about the land, people, history, government, political conditions, economy, and foreign relations of independent states, some dependencies, and areas of special sovereignty. They are updated/revised by the Office of Electronic Information and Publications of the Bureau of Public Affairs as they are received from the Department's regional bureaus.
