Science and Religion from Antiquity to the Present: Indexes to Journal Articles

This is a guide to researching science and religion from antiquity to the present. Last updated 06-27-2023

Indexes to Journal Articles

Use an index to identify scholarly periodical articles.  The steps in the process are:

Choose an index.

Do the search, using keywords or controlled vocabulary or both.

Modify the strategy to improve results, if necessary.

Understand the citations retrieved. Print, save, e-mail, or export them, if desired.

Find the full text of the article in the Library, by following links to full-text within the index you use.  If there is no full text link in the index, first try looking up the journal title (not the article title) in E Books and Journals; we may well have online access.  If we do not offer the journal online, we may have it in paper in our collection; look up the journal title in Books and Media. If it is in Remote Storage, look for the "Get This" link in the entry to have the volume you seek brought to the Main Library for checkout.   Full texts or articles may be online, on paper, or on microform.
