The NIH outlines a list of available repositories they support where researchers can make their data available in accordance to DMS Policy. The Repositories for Sharing Scientific Data is a list of NIH-supported repositories, but is not exhaustive. Each repository will have their own data submission policy, so be sure to read through the data submission instructions and requirements to ensure your data fits the scope of the repository.
The NIH also has guidelines for desirable characteristics for data repositories, which include things like a unique persistent identifier (like a DOI), free and easy access, metadata to aid in discovery, a retention policy, and provenance. A full list of guidelines and examples can be found through Selecting a Data Repository.
