Tecre Button Makers
We have two sizes of button makers: 1", and 2.25". We sell the parts for making pin back buttons for each machine. Parts are $0.11/1" button, and $0.18/2.25" button. We sell the button making parts at cost for your convenience. You may bring your own button making supplies but they must be Tecre brand materials. Other third party manufactured parts can cause damage to the machine. Printed graphics must be printed on regular paper, photo or card stock paper are too thick.
- Design your button graphic
- Your button graphic will be slightly larger than the final button size, this allows for the image to wrap around the edge of the button. See this guide for an explanation of how button graphic templates work. Tecre provides templates for our 1" button and 2.25" button. Note that the size of the paper graphic is larger than the size of the button! See the bottom of this page for more design resources.
- Print your graphic on regular paper
- Printed graphics must be printed on regular paper, photo or card stock paper are too thick. Printing at the library can be done through MSU print or at the MakeCentral Service Desk next door to the Makerspace. Please note that the Makerspace does not handle paper prints. We recommend printing more graphics than you anticipate needing as you learn how to use our button makers.

- Walk in use is welcomed but we encourage making an appointment so that the equipment is available when you want to use it.
- Come to your booking and make your buttons
- Bring your printed graphics. We provide punches for cutting out your paper graphics.
- Pay for the total amount of button supplies used
- If you use our pin back button supplies, the cost is $0.11/1" button, and $0.18/2.25" button. We do not charge for failed buttons but you must return the damaged button parts. We are not responsible for replacing your paper graphics due to failed buttons.
