Renaissance or Early Modern Material Culture: MURRAY AND HONG SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

This is a guide to researching the Renaissance/Early Modern Period, in the West, especially material culture.

MURRAY AND HONG SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

Our Murray and Hong Special Collections has a representative collection of rare books from the Renaissance/Early Modern period, if you prefer reading paper copies and/or want to experience learning to use rare books.  Use our online catalog (Books and Media link on the Libraries' home page) by author, title, subject, keyword to find what to read.  Scope your search to include Murray and Hong Special Collections items.  Click on the "Get It" button on the right in the catalog record.  The first time, you need to register yourself in the Aeon system, which we use for requesting rare books to be brought to the reading room to use.  You must read rare books IN the Murray and Hong Special Collections Reading room, first floor Center.

History of the Book has suggestions to help you learn about the history of early printing and early books.
