Levels of Collecting Intensity

The impact of levels of collecting intensity will vary with the scope of our collections in each subject area, and should be reflected in policy statements for each discipline.

General multidisciplinary data and statistical resources: 3B – meets the needs of most university community users. Level 4 and above applies to subject-specific data sources.

Data analysis software manuals: 3B – collect a representative sample of handbooks. Maintaining currency is important. These books are often very popular, but purchase copy 2s with discretion as like course textbooks, many users will need to purchase their own and the Libraries’ cannot support enough available copies for the entire campus. Use discretion with books classified as advanced textbooks. Books for software programs currently collected: SPSS, Stata, SAS, R, NVivo
