COVID-19 Social Media Datasets: Online resources

About

This page contains other online resources about COVID-19 and social media research.

Hydrating Tweets

Twitter's terms of use require all published tweets to be "dehydrated", with only tweet IDs available to the public. Researchers need to "rehydrate" them when reusing the data. All the datasets listed in this guide from Twitter need rehydration before use. Here are the tools that would do this job for you.  A Twitter developer account is needed in order to use these tools to rehydrate the tweets.

Twarc

A command line tool and Python library, click the above link to learn more.

Hydrator

A desktop application for hydrating tweets, for users who are not familiar with command lines. Learn more by clicking the above link.
