Resources to support MSU students, faculty, staff, and community members in effectively communicating through data visualizations.

What is Data Visualization?

Data visualizations are graphical representations of a collection of information (data). Data can be visualized through charts, graphs, maps, and a wide range of other formats. Their main goal is to help communicate what the data says to an intended audience.

The benefits of successful data visualizations include:

Who Can Help Me?

Data Visualization Librarian 

  • Provides support for digital scholarship projects and events through consultations, workshops, and course-embedded sessions
  • Part of the Digital Scholarship Lab within the Main Library (2 West)

GIS Librarian

  • Provides support for GIS related research projects and teaching, including assistance for GIS software selection and access, map design and production, and workshops
