Top Tips for Accessible Webpages

While you may not be building entire webpages from scratch, it's still useful to know the basics of web accessibility. Besides allowing a diverse population of users to access your content, accessible webpages provide better structure and organization. Many of these same principles apply to creating LibGuides.

• Describe images and charts using alternate text
• Use headings and lists to provide structure to your page
• Use meaningful link names. The goal is to make sure your link make sense out of context
• Build accessible tables for data
• Use high contrast text and background colors
