Media Preservation Introduction

Introduction

This is a landing page for anyone who is new to the world of media preservation, who needs a place to get started with their media preservation journey. Welcome!

Here you will find some broad, general guides on "AV Preservation 101," as well as more specific resources related to the preservation and archiving of film, video, audio, and optical and digital media.

To learn more about what media preservation looks like in action, read through our "Case Studies" and "Disaster Recovery" sections, where you will learn how  media preservation professionals apply their training to real-life workflows and problem-solving, and how you can do the same for your own media collections. Lastly, the "Journals, Blogs, and Further Reading" section provides a number of different publications where you can learn all about the latest developments in the media preservation world.
