Accessing ESRI GIS Software and Web Applications at MSU

If you have an active MSU netid, you have access to ESRI GIS software! The software and web applications included in our license are: ArcOnline, StoryMaps, ESRI Training, Survey123, Business Analyst Online, and ArcPro desktop software.

To login (and to make an account) to web applications and training, the procedure will be the same with different starting URLS.

ArcOnline: https://www.arcgis.com/
StoryMap: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/
Survey123: https://survey123.arcgis.com/
ESRI Training: https://www.esri.com/training/
Business Analyst Online: https://bao.arcgis.com/esriBAO/login/

To download ArcGIS Pro desktop software please see the tab for ArcGIS Pro in this guide. After it is installed, the login process for ArcGIS Pro will be the same as described here, minus the start URL.

This both creates a new account and is the method for logging into your account.

Instructions for login to/account creation for these applications:
Go to the application's URL: [see above]
Hit the drop down button (small arrow) next to "Your Organization's URL"
Add "msugis" to the URL and hit continue
Hit the blue button in the middle of the options to login with your NetID
You can use this process to login to your account in the future.

Important: Once you make your account please change your personal account information with your name, it defaults to netid and this isn't desirable.

Here are screen shots of the process logging into ArcGIS Online:
