Access point to U.S. Federal Executive Branch datasets. Note that data is grouped in three ways: The "Raw" data catalog allows limiting by .shp or .kml formats. Tools Catalog leads to agency tools or agency web pages that allow you to mine data sets. Geodata catalog has miscellaneous geo-referenced data.

Provides download of NAIP imagery and 3DEP elevation data

The EarthExplorer user interface is an online search, discovery, and ordering tool developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). It is the interface for finding and downloading imagery and LIDAR

An interactive interface and downloadable datasets. These nationally consistent, raster based products provide individual dates of land cover inventories. Up to 25 classes of land cover are mapped. Data is based upon 30 meter Landsat imagery. Michigan datasets are available for 1975, 1985, 1996, 2001, 2006, 2010, and 2016.

A clearing house of USGS topographic maps, including historical topographic maps.

High resolution, high accuracy datasets are often publicly available, but scattered in many places. This tool serves as a central index for available topographic and bathymetric data sets, provides information about the data sets, and directs you to further information.

NOAA's data catalog contains a wide variety of datasets related to ocean bathymetry, imagery and ocean resources.

National Center for Educational Statistics Geoportal. Includes school district boundaries and school location shapefile download.

Cartographic Boundary files are available in shapefile format for the Census 2018, 2010 and 2000 and selected geographies for other years.

The Housing and Urban Development Geoportal provides spatial data relating to the department's mission, including location affordability and disaster response and recovery.

FCC data regarding including market boundaries and cellular market areas. There is no search function within the GIS data, I suggest searching the webpage for keywords with ctrl-F.

US Geological Survey makes available the National Hydrography Dataset is 3 styles: High resolution, Medium Resolution, and Low Resolution. These are all downloadable as geodatabases.

Global land and climate data/models.

The data portal of the National Park Service has a variety of data available through text search.

"The Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics (MRLC) consortium is a group of federal agencies who coordinate and generate consistent and relevant land cover information at the national scale for a wide variety of environmental, land management, and modeling applications."

A geoportal for the US Flood Science center presenting information regarding flooding risk and other related data. Mostly contains data in web service layers and apps rather than shapefile downloads.

The ParkServe® dataset compiles park data for over 15,000 cities and towns across the U.S. and is provided for download in a variety of file formats. Included in the data downloads are park polygons, park 10-minute walk service areas, park priority areas, as well as trails and playgrounds in parks.
