Analysis of Subject Field

A. Chronology of the Subject:

There are no chronological restrictions. Materials on both current and historical topics are considered.

B. Language of Resources Collected:

The emphasis is on English language materials. Spanish language materials are also collected.

C. Geography of Subject:

Inclusive of the United States boundaries; the United States-Mexico borderlands and some Puerto Rican (island) materials supporting the mainland Puerto Rican experience and the experiences of Chicanos and Latinos abroad. This does not include the experiences of resident populations in their home countries (e.g. Mexicans in Mexico, Cubans in Cuba, etc.)

D. Format of Resources Collected:

All appropriate formats, including print, electronic, and audio-visual are collected.

E. Date of Publications Collected:

Emphasis is on current publications, but retrospective works are also considered.

F. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:

We seek out historically underrepresented and marginalized voices, identities, and perspectives to diversify and fill gaps in our collections.
