Every so often, MSU Libraries does not own a book you want to read or subscribe to a periodical containing an article you’d like to read. What do you do then? Interlibrary Services borrows books and obtains copies of articles for you at no charge. Your tuition dollars support this program. Follow the directions on the Interlibrary Services page to apply for the items you want. Our Library borrows the materials from libraries that own them. ILL books are placed at the Circulation Desk; you receive a notice in your e-mail in box to come in and pick them up. The checkout period is whatever the lending library would use to check the book out to their patrons. Sometimes renewal is possible. Periodical articles will come to you online in your e-mail in box.
Do not wait until the last minute to apply for interlibrary loan, because the process takes a few days to several weeks.
