The MSU Main Library has 2 Rocketbooks and their required pens (Pilot FriXion) available for checkout from our Circulation Desk (main help desk on the first floor). They can be checked out for 14 days. They must be returned directly to the Circulation Desk (NOT placed in a book drop). Please wipe Rocketbooks clean before returning.
Rocketbooks are reusable notebooks that allow you to digitize handwritten notes.
You write on the notebook paper with a Pilot FriXion pen. Any other pen will damage the notebook. Then using the Rocketbook app, you use the device's camera to scan the page and export it to your preferred destination, or keep it saved locally on the app. Destinations include Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, Slack, Box, iCloud and more.
Rocketbook also gives the option to convert the handwriting from the scanned document to digital text. The neater your handwriting, the better the translation. When you no longer need the physical version of the notes, you wipe the page clean with a damp cloth. To see how to transcribe handwritten notes, see Rocketbook's guide on their website.
