Conference Committee Reports

A conference committee is used to resolve differences between the House and Senate regarding a bill. Most bills do not require a conference committee. The report usually contains the bill version resulting from a compromise and discussion of the two versions and the agreement reached.

Conference committee reports are published as House reports (Serial Set) and in the Congressional Record.

See Conference Committee and Related Procedures: An Introduction (CRS) for more on the conference process.
