Citation Management

When it comes time to submit assignments, publish papers, or apply for grants, a citation manager can save you time formatting bibliographies. Using a citation manager is also helpful for organizing your scholarly literature.

The MSU Libraries provides support and free training for 3 different citation management programs: EndNote, Mendeley, and Zotero.

BrowZine and LibKey

BrowZine is a free web or mobile application that allows users to browse, read, and monitor journals available through the MSU Libraries. It is an incredibly useful tool for easily locating and staying up-to-date with your scholarly reading.

User Accounts in Databases

Most databases allow you to set up a free personal account to use for saving citations and search results. You can also set up alerts for successful searches so that you are notified when new research is published. It is highly recommended that you set up an account in the databases that you use more frequently to save you time and help you stay organized.
